Literature has its own definition when it comes to
purpose. The diversification in writing an article or a journal depends upon
the reason behind its writing. There are various types of literature that amaze
us with their being in existence. For example, if we talk about Popular
Literature, it would include journals and articles that are written in favour
of a NEWS company or a magazine. These cover current happenings in and around a
place, an interview of a well known person, or even political views.
SCHOLARLY
LITERATURE, on the other hand is written by experts in a
particular field. People who are carrying out some kind of research and are
funded by some college or academic institutes are the authors of scholarly
literary papers. These papers are written by researchers and submitted in
favour of the editors who go through the matter in the paper thoroughly before
publishing it in educational journals.
If the content and research material in
the paper is satisfactory enough to the editor, only then it will find a place
in a journal. The purpose of a scholarly literary article is to establish and
spread out research and ideas that have been derived after many years of
studying. Generally, these papers are written to spread the knowledge among
fellow scholars and also academic students working in the relevant field. These
papers cover content that focus on very specific subjects which can only be
decoded by the people working in those subjects. The prime characteristic of
these papers is that they hardly have any basic information given, that is,
they leap over to the main content very quickly. It is assumed that the reader
of the paper will have all his concepts clear about the matter.
A lot of
references are included in scholarly materials. It is an obvious fact that
while studying in details about a topic, one would need a lot of information
from various sources. So when a person writes a paper, he/she must include all
the names and sources which have helped him/her to lay down a new theory.
Scholarly literary materials include in details all the gradual steps that have
led the researcher come to the conclusion. These articles are generally lengthy
ones and often continue for over 5 pages. The different subjects on which
scholary literature are written are:
·
HISTORY: A new concept about the
reason of perishing of an age old civilization, a theory on the English
colonial rule or many such subjects can be part of a historic literary article.
Historians study day and night to find connection between happenings of today’s
world with the past.
·
SCIENCE: This is a field where
maximum research is conducted every day. Be it something based on physics or
biology or maybe something interrelated to both; the new theories will find
place in a journal primarily and then proved to reality only after application.
The science journals include medicine, anthropology, electronics and a much
wider domain under it. Science has many interrelated branches which are deeply
connected to each other. So if there is a new theory in one domain, many
consequent new researches start their procedure.
·
ECONOMICS: This is a domain that is
designed specially to tackle the finance of the world. Researchers, after years
of observation deduce a theory that may improve the economy of a country. But
before implementation, these theories are carefully studied by various
economists around the world who give their reviews and ideas about the
relevance and practicality of the theory. Only if these conditions are
surpassed, the theory finds its place on a journal.
